About HomeSession
What is HomeSession?
It is a simple app that helps a parent or caregiver run short skill-building sessions with their child at home, log how each try goes, and watch progress build over time. When you want professional guidance, it also helps you find a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA®).
Who is it for?
Parents and caregivers of children who are working on everyday skills, including families who are new to ABA. You do not need to be a clinician. Everything is written in plain language and walks you through each step.
Do I need a BCBA to use it?
No. Working with a BCBA is optional. You can create goals, run sessions, and track progress entirely on your own, and reach out to a BCBA through the directory only if and when you want support.
Is HomeSession a medical or treatment tool?
No. HomeSession is a skill-building and tracking tool. It does not diagnose or treat, and it is not a substitute for professional care. It simply helps you practice and keep a clear record.
Using it day to day
What happens in a session?
You create a goal, which is one skill you are teaching, then run a short guided round and log each try as Independent, Prompted, or Incorrect. When you finish, HomeSession saves a summary and builds progress charts you can look back on or share.
Can I track more than one child?
Yes. You can add several children and switch between them. Each child has their own goals, sessions, and progress.
What are behavior notes?
An optional way to keep a simple count of things like a tantrum during a session, so you can share them with a BCBA. They are observations to share, not a treatment plan, and HomeSession does not diagnose or treat behavior.
Does it work offline?
Yes. HomeSession works on your device without a connection. If you choose to create an account, you can also back up your data and sync it across devices.
Cost and privacy
How much does it cost?
After a 7 day free trial, HomeSession is $29.99 per month or $229.99 per year. You subscribe inside the app through the App Store or Google Play, and you can cancel anytime in your store settings.
Do I have to create an account?
No. You can use HomeSession without signing up. Email sign in is optional and only powers backup and syncing your data across devices.
Is my information private?
Your data is stored on your device. Photos never leave your device. If you create an account, your goals, sessions, and notes can be backed up and synced, while photos stay local.
What devices does it run on?
HomeSession is a mobile app for iPhone and Android. It is launching soon on the App Store and Google Play.
For BCBAs
I am a BCBA. How does the directory work?
Families browse the directory by state licensure and reach out to you directly. HomeSession makes the introduction only. You advise and consult, the parent runs the sessions, and any working relationship is between you and the family. We show verified, active certification rather than star ratings.
What does it cost to be listed?
A HomeSession listing is $19.99 per month, billed on the website. It is a flat fee, with no per-session commission and no cut of your work, and families reach out to you directly. You can read more on the For BCBAs page or create your listing.
